Acton-Boxboro has lost it's share of dominant athletes that moved out of town. In 1993, AB was blessed with the arrival of Chris Price, linebacker extraordinaire. It may not be a coincidence that AB football fortunes turned on the arrival of Mr. Price on the scene. It is the opinion of many veteran AB football watchers that Chris Price is one of the finest two linebackers to ever play the position. He was the face of the dreaded AB defense. He talked the talk and walked the walk. Lo, the opposing running back that was designated as the man to stop in the weekly defensive game scheme, for he was the one that would incur the wrath of Chris Price, the centerpiece of the AB defense.

Teams tried to double-team. It didn't work. Teams tried to chop him. It didn't work. Over a two-year period Chris Price amassed over 300 tackles and 15 sacks.
The unequivocal leader of the AB stonewall defense, matriculated to the University of Massachusetts under the auspices of head coach Mark Whipple. It is here that another chapter of Massachusetts football history is written. In 1998, Chris Price was the starting defensive end of the Division 1AA National Champions. With Chris price, it has always been about team and not individual accolades. However, let it be known that Chris Price is tied with the most career starts in UMASS football history. Chris was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 Team, honorable mention Don Hansen, awarded UMASS Vic Fuscia Award for hardest working student athlete 1999, named UMASS Athlete of the Week twice, 1999 named UMASS Most Improved Student Athlete, more importantly, six time Dean's List.
Chris graduated with a 3.5 GPA at UMASS. Currently he is employed with AIG with a CPCU and ARe designations. When asked what AB sports did for me, in one word he answered, "everything." He went on to explain, "they helped mold me into who I am." He credits all his coaches in high school for giving him the work ethic to achieve on the football field and in life. Chris lives in Leicester, Massachusetts with his wife Tara and daughter Ella.
