Duffy McNulty
Duffy McNulty
With big shoes to fill, the son of legendary AB basketball coach Larry McNulty, Duffy McNulty responded to the challenge and then some. All Duffy did was become Acton-Boxboro's All-Time Leading Scorer with 1,221 points. He was a two-time first team DCL All-star, earning MVP honors his senior year. His senior year Duffy pumped in a record 41 points on opening night and had games with other total points of 40, 39 and 36. In twenty games, he hit 60 three-pointers, including 9 in one contest. Duffy was not just a shooter. His work ethic was unmatched. A certifiable gym rat, he spent hours upon days upon months perfecting his skills, lateral movement and speed. He could defend, rebound, jump, run you off the court and shoot the proverbial lights out of the twine.

Duffy's hard work paid off earning a walk-on scholarship to the Big East's Providence College Friars. This storied program received our local legend and he made everyone on his team a better player. Teaming up with the likes of the NBA's Eric Williams and Austin Croshere, Duffy made his mark for Coach Rick Barnes' hardwood hero's as a valued member of this 1994 elite team.

Duffy's fondest athletic memories are just playing for Coach Rich MacLeod his senior year and being on the Big East Tournament Champion in 1994. Duffy resides in Stow with his wife Joy, children Mathew and Abigail. He is the owner of Northeast Building and Renovation, a highly successful contracting firm. When AB basketball greats are discussed, the name Duffy McNulty is one of the first ones mentioned.
