Mark Ivanov
Mark Ivanov  
Mark Ivanov is the most decorated and highly acclaimed Track and Field athlete in the history of Acton Boxboro Regional High School and Bentley College. A four year varsity participant in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Soccer, Mark was a Co-Captain all three seasons his senior year. In soccer, Mark's teams were the Eastern Massachusetts Champions. He was the team M.V.P., a D.C.L. All-Star, Boston Herald All-Scholastic, a Lowell Sun All-Star and Player-Of-The-Year. Yet it was in track where Mark is most remembered.
 
As a junior, he was a Lowell Sun All-Star and finished Seventh in the State Decathalon. In indoor track as the team's high scorer, Mark set the AB and D.C.L. records in the High Jump at 6'5", 45YD. High Hurdles and the Mile Relay, being named All-State in High Jump and High Hurdles. That outdoor season, Mark set school records in the 110M High Hurdles. He also finished First in the All-League Meet in the High Jump and Pole Vault, and won the State High School Decathalon. That summer, Mark finished First in the T&F Championships earned a SPORTS ILLUSTRATED "Face in the Crowd," finished Fifth in the National AAU Junior Olympics and was an Eastern Track All-East High School Track Selection. At Bentley College, Mark was a four year Track M.V.P., Outstanding Senior Athlete and was named to the Bentley Hall of Fame in 1994. He holds ten individual and one relay team school records, all still standing. Mark was a Four Time All-American selection. His honors include: 1987 and 1988 New England Pentathalon Champion (record still stands), 1988 IC4A Pentathalon Champion, 1989 New England Long Jump Champion and 1987 and 1989 Division II Athlete-of-the-Year. His post-collegiate career includes a Second Place Finish in the 1991 Olympic Festival Decathalon and a Fourth Place Finish in 1993. Mark also placed second to Dan O'Brien in the U.S. Pentathalon Championships in 1991 and won the Eastern Pentathalon Championships in 1991 and 1994. Mark retired from competition in 1994. He is currently a Sales Engineer for Everett Charles Technologies. Mark resides in Ipswich with his wife Maria and their son Kyle.
