Steve Higgins
Steve Higgins  
This devastating three-sport athlete is best known for his exploits on ice. He is one of the cornerstones to the storied rise of A-B's dominance in high school hockey. This two-time All-Scholastic Hockey ace culminated his high school achievements with his hockey team's momentous 1-0 State Championship victory in 1974 capping a perfect 19-0 season. Not only was he successful on the rink, his multi-dimensional skills shown through on the soccer pitch and on Jack Hughes "diamond-nines." His post AB career includes a year at New Hampton Prep where his team won the New England Prep School Championship.
 
Steven was the captain and MVP of his team. Winning and Steve went hand-in-hand as he matriculated to Dartmouth where in 1979, his Dartmouth team advanced to the "Frozen Four" in Detroit. That season, he was Dartmouth's Unsung Hero in addition to being The Boston Globe's ECAC Unsung Hero. Turning professional in 1979, Steve excelled as a player and player/coach in Sweden retiring in 1999. His 20-year professional career saw his teams win 6 League Championships and Steve individually was named League MVP four times and Coach of the Year twice. Steve resides in Osby, Sweden with his wife Carina and their three children Sandra Marie, Vickie Sue and Stephen Ola. Steve is a high school teacher, a youth hockey director and director of the Higgins Summer Hockey Camps. Steve's most memorable moment was his teams 1-0 victory over Billerica at the Boston Garden.
