Alan Bourbeau not only carried on the legendary AB Boys Hockey tradition; he elevated the standards to new highs. Alan was glitter, guts and grit. Alan accomplished almost everything there is to achieve at the high school, college and international level. His cat like reflexes, speed and determination sent tremors of awe into his opponents throughout the 1980's. Alan holds the Massachusetts Division I record for Most Goals in one season (62) and points scored in a career (289).

This 4-time DCL. All-star, 4-time Lowell Sun/Metro West All-star and Boston Globe High School Player of The Year was also the first recipient of the John Carlton Memorial Trophy given by the Boston Bruins to the Outstanding Student Athlete in EMASS High School Hockey. His career continued to blossom as a member of the 1984 and 1985 U.S. National Junior Teams and Harvard University under legendary athlete and hockey coach Bill Cleary. At Harvard, Alan and his team reached the pinnacle of success when the 1989 Crimson Icemen went on to win the NCAA National Championship. Prior to that, in 1986, Alan was named the ESPN Amateur Athlete of the Week during the College "Frozen Four." In 1988, Alan was a key component for the U.S. Olympic Team in Calgary Canada scoring 3 goals and earning 2 assists in 5 games. Alan's most memorable hockey moment was breaking Robbie Ftorek's State Scoring Record on a hat trick versus Somerville. "My last hockey memory was from the 1988 Winter Olympics. The pride of wearing the Team USA jersey and starting against the Russian team was a thrilling moment, a feeling of patriotism and honor that will live long forever in my mind. I cannot explain the emotion of playing for my country and I cannot tell you the personal satisfaction of achieving a goal set for myself... it was an astonishing moment in my life." Alan currently lives in Lynchburg, Virginia.
