The Honorable
Paul Barbadoro Class of 1973 - Track & Field Paul Barbadoro was a lynch
pin of Coach Dick Dow's track juggernaut of the mid-1970's. As captain of
the 1973 Class III State Champions, Paul helped to dominate the field events.
He was the individual State Champion in the discus setting state records
on a rainy Saturday in May. This record that Paul established is, to this
day, 26 years later, 156 feet 4 inches, still stands as the benchmark. Paul
also has a Second Place finish in the prestigious Glen Louckes Games in
New York.

Paul matriculated at Gettysburg College where he continued his
outstanding track accomplishments, twice winning the Middle Atlantic Coast
Conference Championship in the discus and qualifying for the NCAA Division
III Championship. While the discus was Paul's top event, he also consistently
placed in the shotputt. In 1977, Paul was awarded the Margaret E. Fisher
Memorial Scholarship which is given annually to the college's top student
athlete. His college discus record still stand. At graduation, Paul was
awarded the PI LAMBDA SIGMA Award given to the college's Outstanding Political
Science Student. Paul graduated from Boston College Law School in 1980,
then worked as an assistant Attorneys General in New Hampshire. He served
as legal counsel for Senator Warren Rudman and as Deputy Chief Counsel to
the United States Senate Committee that investigated the Iran-Contra Scandal.
In 1992, Paul Barbadoro was nominated as District Judge by President George
Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate. Paul is the youngest candidate
to be appointed as a Federal Judge. Paul currently serves as Chief Judge
of the Federal District Court for the District of New Hampshire. In typical
AB fashion, Paul considers his greatest accomplishment as being named Captain
of both his high school and college track teams. He wishes most to emphasize
the achievements of the great team he was part of in 1973, with special
accolades to Coach Dick Dow. It is Coach Dow whom Paul credits for much
of his own and the team's success. Paul resides in New Hampshire with his
wife Inez, daughter Katherine and son John.
