Steven Donovan
In the inaugural year of the Acton-Boxboro Colonial Club Hall of Fame, there were two administrators elected as first year honorees – William O'Connell and Raymond Grey, both legends in the AB Communities. Alan Foresman joined them in 2003. It is the deep pleasure of the Colonial Club to add Mr. Steve Donovan to this illustrious triumvirate.
It is the rare administrator that recognizes in totality, the true intrinsic values that athletics and extracurricular activities bring to the total educational process of a successful school environment. As principal of Acton Boxboro Regional High School for sixteen years, Steve Donovan was a champion of the student athlete and their coaches. At virtually any venue that you could imagine, in all corners of Massachusetts, Steve Donovan would be there to support his student athletes. Victories meant a lot to him, and he was proud to be associated with those wins, but Steve was with our teams in both victory and defeat.
Under Steve Donovan's watch AB garnered 26 State Championships and 95 Dual County League Championships. These accomplishments are a tribute to the athletes and coaches who accomplished these feats of excellence. However, as the sign on Harry Truman desk said, "the buck stops here."
Steve, we thank you for recognizing the importance of athletics and what it brings to the existence and well being of both the school and community environment. You have joined the company of legends. Well done!
