Lynne Campbell Berard


Class of 1989

  TA trifecta athlete - a three sport athlete for all four years and varsity team captain in Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball. Lynne was also a member of the National Honor Society. Field Hockey was Lynne's dominant sport. A three-year varsity starter and three-year DCL All-star, Lynne garnered Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-scholastic honors in 1987 and 1988. She was a Lowell Sun All-star from 1986 to 1988 including "Player of the Year" in 1987. Lynne led the DCL in scoring in both her junior and senior year and was second her sophomore year. She amassed 99 career points with 59 goals and 40 assists. Lynne was selected to participate in the Bay State Games in 1988. In basketball and softball Lynne was a two-year varsity starter and DCL All-star in both sports her senior year. Providence pointed the way to Providence College via a field hockey scholarship. Lynne was a four-year starter for the Friars and was team captain her senior year. She was a Northeast Regional All-American in 1992 and a Second Team Northeast Regional All-American in 1991. Lynne's teams were ranked nationally in the Top Ten throughout her four years and won the Big East Championship in 1989 and 1991. Lynne is married to David Berard, a graduate of Providence College and a former player for the Friars hockey team. They have two sons Brett (10 years old) and Brady (9 years old). Lynne resides in East Greenwich, RI and has been working at Samsonite for the past 20 yearswhere she is Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
