Linda is the all-time leading scorer in Acton Boxboro women's basketball with over 1600 points. The point total could well be over 2000 had Linda been allowed to play in all the blow outs her hoop teams experienced. Issy Stearns' 1967 team went 20-0 largely due to Linda's splendid talents. Generally acknowledged as AB's finest woman basketball player, perhaps, it's finest athlete. It was commonplace for Linda to haul down a rebound at one end of the court, dribble through whom ever tried to stop her, then lay the ball in at the other end. Linda was "the Larry Bird of the mid-sixties." Linda was an All-Star no less than seven times in her various sports at AB.
Her tournament achievements are extraordinary, earning M.V.P. status in basketball three times, softball twice, and field hockey once. It was not often that women's athletics drew crowds before the mid-seventies, but Linda drew her classmates and townspeople into Blanchard Gymnasium to witness her hardwood heroics. An outstanding student as well as athlete, Linda was the forerunner of today's dominant AB women athletes. Linda is a successful business person and lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
