June Dirstine

Class of 1994

The girl for all seasons, June Dirstine was the ultimate 3-sport warrior. June joins the elite few who have entered our Hall of Fame as a three sport captain leading her respective teams in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. June's talent was obvious and her toughness revered by both teammates and foes alike. June was no less than a 10-time Dual County League All-Star in her three-sport career. Her leadership on pitch, court and field jettisoned those AB teams to 6 DCL Championships. In soccer, as the last line of defense in goal, June was 4-year Team MVP and 2-year Lowell Sun All-Star. In hoop, June was a First Team All-Star selection her senior year in the Middlesex News, Lowell Sun, Boston Herald, and Second Team Boston Globe. In lacrosse, June was a First Team All-Star for the Middlesex News, Lowell Sun and Boston Herald All-Scholastic Teams. In college, June chose basketball as sport of choice and Colorado Western State College was her home for the next 4 years. June was elected captain her senior year, receiving All-RMAC Honorable Mention, ranking among the top performers in steals in the WSC record books. June graduated with degrees in Math and Psychology. After working 10 years at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Denver, June has become a stay-at-home mom for her 2 year old daughter Tia. June and her partner Beth reside in Denver, Colorado. June's most memorable moment at AB was winning back-to-back titles in basketball her junior and senior years and the competitiveness and camaraderie that those teams shared. This was special because they were a T-E-A-M.
